====== Giranhad ======

Giranhad was a city that existed on the Aboriac Sea, south of Rhythis.  The city sank into the sea on Dalan the 4th, 1319 Avard.  Giranhad was a major port city, and the bedrock of the [[gaeleth:history:Inquisition]]'s excursions into the west.  The Third and Fourth Crusades both sailed from Giranhad, a wealthy and powerful city.

The city was warned of its imminent destruction by a prophecy, and many of its people evacuated to [[gaeleth:places:Sandar]], [[gaeleth:places:Kur Maeth]], and [[gaeleth:places:Al Fahim]].  Those that could not evacuate -- the poorest or those that could not fit on the ships -- perished.  The maelstroms that exist where Giranhad was are haunted, warning seagoers that the Sea of Kiriath is haunted.
