The world's recovery from the globe-spanning destruction of the Storm Wars was interrupted by a necromancer bent on world domination and resurrecting the same powers that had nearly broken the world. The War of the Undead the necromancer brought about culminated in the resurrection of a god in service to mortal man. The war sent armies of undead walking the oceans and terrorizing the night, and created a generation of people terrified of the dark, the bones of the dead, and the necromancers that brought them about.
