Three of the four elemental gods were killed during the Shaping Wars – and the fourth was assumed killed, as well. The Fire Goddess Xoriah went into hiding, turning a blind eye to the rest of the world, and staying locked away from the outside for millennia. The hidden city of Xoriah was found during the Storm Wars – and destroyed. As the members of the Dark Race assaulted the city, the Chosen of Xoriah was killed, and his daughter simply… disappeared, right before the eyes of the Dark Race. Centuries later, she reappeared in the Avris Mountains, a victim of the summoning stones left over from the Shaping Wars. Her power as inheritor Chosen, coupled with a wickedly powerful lightning storm, supercharged the stones such that others from other times and places were also drawn in with her.
