Since the inception of Rakore, the small nation has held one contiguous border with the deserts of the Choranil, and manned its outposts and walls and guard towers against the threat of the ograns. For the last ten years, the ograns have been busy, being eaten by a desert insect the size of a small elephant – and fighting for survival. The people of Rakore had come to believe the ograns could never invade again, for to break off their defense against the insect-like Srik would mean the flanking and envelopment of the ograns – and their destruction. On Davor the 17th, 1329 Avard, Rakore was invaded by the ograns en masse. Now, they can only survive by force of will.
