A holbrace is a tattoo given to a paladin by his god. The tattoo has unearthly qualities, such that it can be seen through clothing or even armor. A paladin can hide his holbrace by sheer force of will, though rarely for long. The only way to remove a holbrace is for the paladin to lose favor with his god, although magical means can often hide the holbrace more permanently.
