The druid gathered about him considerable followers, priests of Barith and Elinthar, and many denizens of the less inhabited lands. Avard Karatika was a force of nature whose force of personality won over anyone who crossed him. He established the Karatikan Alliance almost single-handedly, and then ruled it for seven centuries. He died in the 772nd year of his reign when the blood mage Refterdardes sacrificed tens of thousands of Nabrolians and unleashed their death energy on Rhythis Keep, killing everyone within – including Avard Karatika.
