Banoc
The nation of Banoc is bordered in the north by high grounds, plateaus, and mountains, and bordered on the other three sides by water. Over the centuries, the rain forests have proven both a haven for the persecuted, and a hell for the unwary. The wood elves that first made Banoc their home still exist in roving bands deep within the forests, occasionally coming to trade with the small cities or large towns scattered about the forest. Each city or town is heavily walled, to protect against the large and dangerous predators of the forests, with stone being the preferred building material. A number of insects and creatures safely use fire and inflamatory jets as defense mechanisms, and the rain forest itself is often too wet and rainy for fires to do much damage. In civilized areas, though, where wood dries out over time, fires break out fairly often if the pests are not kept in check. The natives of the Banoc Forests are extremely wary of outsiders, and distrust most of them on sight. The dominant deities in the Banoc Forest are Barith, Elinthar, and Agincoth.
