The Seven Rings of Alibazcar

Alibazcar was an enchanter in Aboris during the Storm Wars. Although his nation had little to do with the wars themselves, Alibazcar's sons signed up for the Kartikan Alliance, and saw fierce campaigning in the Jaeth Hills with the Vord Orcs and the Nathelian forces. Determined that his sons would have some measure of defense against both the orcs and the invading Dark God's forces, Alibazcar fashioned a set of rings for each of his sons, each with a different benefit as per the personality of the son.

Colonel Deltankth Ve of Nathel discovered the first ring quite by accident, when one of his mages brought it to him. An accomplished spell-caster in his own right, Colonel Ve realized that the rings were linked so that the brothers could find one another -- and also linked so that all seven could be worn together without interfering with one another's powers. The colonel began a personal campaign to acquire all seven of the rings, and by the time of his death, had managed to acquire four of them. Colonel Ve was slain by a Karatikan deep strike force, just before Nabrol's ascension to power. The chaos of Nathel's death, and subsequent replacement by Nabrol, scattered the rings and Alibazcar's remaining sons.

Each ring, crafted of platinum and runed with the dusts of various gems, was scattered across Gaeleth. It is thought that if any one of the rings is found, it might be used to find the other rings, and so empower an individual with extraordinary abilities. The rings and their abilities are listed on the table below:

Rune Gem Granted Powers 1 & 2
Ruby 1) For every successful melee attack, 1 HP is drained from the victim into the wearer. A safety within the ring prevents it from attempting to drain Hit Points from victims that cannot transfer them, such as the undead.
2) The wearer gains one additional melee attack each round.
Caster Level: 19th. Prerequisites: Forge Ring, vampyric touch, improved haste, resistance, magic weapon, contingency, binding. Market Price: 91,000gp.

Emerald 1) As per a ring of regeneration.
2) Wearer gains immunity to diseases and poisons.
Caster Level: 19th. Prerequisites: Forge Ring, regenerate, remove disease, neutralize poison, contingency, binding. Market Price: 115,000gp.

Diamond 1) As per boots of speed.
2) As per a ring of freedom of movement.
Caster Level: 19th. Prerequisites: Forge Ring, freedom of movement, haste, contingency, binding. Market Price: 48,000gp.

Amethyst 1) Because of spell storing, the wearer can cast one additional spell of 1st- to 4th-level.
2) As per a ring of counterspells.
Caster Level: 19th. Prerequisities: Forge Ring, spell turning, imbue with spell ability, limited wish, contingency, binding. Market Price: 32,500gp.

Citrine 1) The ring increases the focus and skill of the wearer, such that he can cast one additional spell of 5th- to 9th-level.
2) All arcane casting times are reduced to 1 action due to limited 'spell haste'.
Caster Level: 19th. Prerequisites: Forge Ring, improved haste, limited wish, imbue with spell ability, contingency, binding. Market Price: 115,000gp.

Sapphire 1) As per a ring of force shield.
2) As per a ring of spell turning.
Caster Level: 19th. Prerequisites: Forge Ring, spell turning, wall of force, contingency, binding. Market Price: 158,500gp.

Onyx 1) As per a ring of chameleon.
2) As per an amulet of proof against detection and location.
Caster Level: 19th. Prerequisities: Forge Ring, invisibility, change self, nondetection, contingency, binding. Market Price: 47,000gp.

In the event that one of the rings is found, legend lore may be cast upon it to determine its origins and purpose. When this spell is used in conjunction with a crystal ball, a general bearing and direction may be determined for the next nearest ring. This technique is useless for detecting the onyx ring of Alibazcar because of its nondetection abilities. For it, a limited wish spell may be required.
