Evocation [Electricity]
Level: Cleric of Brigain 1 Components: DF Casting Time: 1 action Range: Medium (50ft +5ft/level) Area: 5ft wide to medium range Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: Reflex half Spell Resistance: Yes Priests of Brigain build up bioelectrical energy that they store within their bodies -- and is the reason they cannot wear metal. The energy can be used for a variety of purposes, from igniting flammables, to stunning opponents, to leveling castles. The energy field grows with the strength of the caster: 1d6 points of damage per level of the caster, with no upward limit. Thus, a 17th-level specialty priest of Brigain can generate a 17d6 bolt of electrical energy. The bolts can be used for destruction, or for nonlethal damage. The destructive energy begins at the priest's fingertips. For example, if an opponent is grappling with a priest of Brigain, then the priest needs only grasp his holy symbol to deal the nonlethal damage directly to his opponent with his other hand. The bolt travels from the priest's hands directly outward in a five foot wide swath, though the priest can dictate when the electrical energy dissipates. It sets fire to combustibles and damages objects in its path. It can melt metals with a low melting point, such as lead, gold, copper, silver, or bronze. If the damage caused to an interposing barrier shatters or breaks through it, the bolt may continue beyond the barrier if the spell's range permits; otherwise, it stops at the barrier just as any other spell effect does. |
