Thri'sil Fir'mae

Character concept by Ron Johnson, all rights reserved.

Special Agent of Firestorm

“Watch this. If you can.”

Date of Birth: Sometime in 1209 Avard.

Current Status: Summer, 1331 Avard. Thri'sil and his brother Handir Fir'mae are quietly infiltrating the nation of Nor, amassing power from within the shadows and harassing the Inquisition, with aid from the distant nation of Rakore.

Appearance

Thri'sil is an elf with a moderate height, ebon-black skin and raven-black hair. His silver-colored irises are all-the-more distinctive in his strong face, and tend to be piercingly intelligent. He has three silvery earrings in each ear that lend a bit of silver to his eyes – and each earring is engraved with archaic runes in tiny, flowing lettering. Thri'silalso wears dark-colored clothes that break up his outline and his patterns, and he rarely carries weapons – because he is one.

Background

Thri'siland his twin brother Handir were born in Tyven – the last city of the Dark Race. When the twins were 56 years old, Lord Elistan and his undead minions razed Tyven to the ground. Witnessing the death of their parents forced the young elven twins to tap deep into their genetic legacies, and escape through a solid wall through the realm of the shadows and the shades. Thereafter, the twins were afraid of nothing, through the horrors they witnessed.

For the next six decades, they wandered about the world, seeing the worst that humanity and the other races had to offer – including the ancient city of Kur Maeth. When the Fourth Crusades invaded Kur Maeth, the two brothers fled to the west, to the Star's End Monastery in Rakore. There, they found a new calling, and a new form of discipline that opened up their eyes and their minds to the shadows in an entirely new 'light'.

The abilities of the twins were put to good use by Rial Mhenace of Gideon Enterprises, who employed them as spies and assassins. Mister Mhenace used the twins a number of times when absolute stealth was called for.

With the aid of the twins, Rial Mhenace helped to elevate a drow princess to the position of Duchess within Rakore. The Duchess Genea also staked a claim in the twins – for her family had been the rulers in Tyven, before the city was destroyed. Now rallying all the remaining drow – and the drow'ari such as themselves – to her banner (and that of Rakore's), the Duchess Genea has paid the twins handsomely for information, tools, and more.

The monks of Samis who taught the twins how to use their unique abilities still maintain a hold on them, putting them in a unique tie for their loyalties – loyalties all bought with coin and the potential for more.

During the War of the Four Winds, Thri'siland his twin brother Handir almost got themselves killed in a bid to use and abuse the powers of magic and several special 'decks of many things'. They returned from their ordeal scathed, but alive, and more determined than ever to sew chaos in their enemies. Once the ograns were defeated and they felt Rakore was safe, the two left to claim the nation of Nor. Their experiments with magic left them with the knowledge of how to control the Inquisition-aligned nation; they had become privy to a dark secret. They were last seen in Rakore at Teras in the spring of 1330, boarding a vessel heading for Kur Maeth, and thence on to Nor.

Character

Thri'sil is ruthless and uncaring, save to the ideals of his employers. His allegiance has been bought – and outside of that allegiance, he is as ruthless and dangerous as any death-spawned shade. He seeks only more wealth, for himself, and for his twin. Thri'sil's only weakness is in his tie to his brother, and he will visit upon anyone who harms his brother vengeance that is dark and lethal. Of the two twins, Thri'sil is the more lethal, and the less prone to dealing with outsiders. Thri'sil is the brawn.
