The 'high elves' of Gaeleth may be the original elven stock from which all other forms originated. Most Eladrin do not even consider themselves the same species as the other elves, and quite a few hostilities resulted from the overly-noble Eladrin's views.

For the most part, the Eladrin – who were strongly gifted in magic – have disappeared from Gaeleth. They still exist in small, isolated communities, but they suffered terribly from several crusades throughout history, even predating the Inquisition.
