Recap
The morning of the 1st of Cal, 1329 Avard, The Eastern Trade Road, Kalla

The morning finds our heroes on the side of the road with Thrug sitting on a traveler's back. Kai and Caleb both suspect the traveler to be Sven, but he says he is not. In a moment of inspiration, Caleb dumbs his water skin over the man's face and rubs all the makeup off to reveal Sven. Once stripped of his disguise, Sven reluctantly promises not to run away again...that day.

During the walk to the next village on their way back down the Eastern Trade Road, Kai questioned the young Sven about why he didn't want to go to the monastery. The young man started with the typical laminations of any healthy young man sent into a monastery. He also told them he had to get back to Duckoron to a girl named Alisa. All in the party thought it was a love affair, but Sven told them it was not. He spun a tale of the are of Duckoron where Alisa was residing as tame compared to the picket pocket infested part they had seen. Sven told a tell of a new cult of vigilantes that was rising in power and influence in Duckoron. The party was a bit worried by this news, but had to get Sven to the monastery first to complete their pack with Sven's uncle so Kai would not die.

Most of the days spent traveling were uneventful. The party got on well with Sven and did not have to resort to Jacob's repeated suggestions to tie him up. Gemini, Thrug and Sven began to play practical jokes on each other.

On the 5th of Cal the party encountered to poor farmers with a cart that had a broken axle. Thrug and Jacob supplied the muscle to get the cart to the next village, while everyone else pitched in to carry the load. With many thanks, the party left the pair and their cart outside the wagon wrights' shop and headed into the inn to rest.

Gemini got curious about the cart and went to investigate later that night. He found it occupied by a small street urchin. They both searched the cart, but found nothing. The rogue flipped the kid a copper and went back into the inn.

Rest alluded them as a small human man entered the room containing Thrug, Kai and Sven. Kai heard him and was hit with something like a spell from the human. He grabbed the man and asked him what he was doing. “I thought I saw a thief come in here and came in to get him.” No one in the party recognized him and all believed in his story of a short man with dark spiky hair.

The party left the inn, and saw no sign of the farmers or their disabled cart. Shrugging their shoulders, the adventurers moved on with Sven in tow. The nice day was ruined by a small group of giant bees. Acting quickly, the party beefed up and attacked the bees as they closed in. The bees retaliated the only way they could, with their stingers. A couple of party members were poisoned as bees died all around them. A sick party walked into the next village and spent 3 days recovering from the bee venom.

A quiet day ended up with the party meeting up with a dark haired man at the village. They had seen him before and had kinda ignored him when he tried to chat them up. Nothing much else happened. The next day the group avoided a small hear of rhinos and made the turn to the village of Evergreen. They party began pulling guard duty over Sven at night. Many had issues about staying awake during their shifts. This continued for the two nights for them to close in on Evergreen. That night Sven disappeared.

The party rushed out before dawn in search of their missing charge. Thrug and Kai raced back down the road to try and find him. They got to the last inn and the people there had not seen Sven or anyone fitting the description of any of the disguises he had employed. Confused the two made their way back to the rest of the party that was moving a bit more slowly. Meeting up, Kai and Horus felt shivers dance down their spines and knew something had happened to Sven. With night fast approaching, the party continued back down the road to the inn they had left the night prior and met up with the dark stranger once again.

Gemini walked up to him and asked him what he was up to. “Traveling,” he replied. They talked a bit and he warned them about traveling to Evergreen. “People have been disappearing in there recently. You might want to go around,” he suggested. The party had this glum thought to chew on as they went to bed that night.

Up early and moving quickly, the party headed back to the inn where they lost Sven, about half a days journey from the village of Evergreen. Everyone was sure Sven had left early to go to the monastery on his own and had gotten into trouble in the village. The party set out the next day for the village of Evergreen. A mile from the village they encountered a sign that said: Beware! This village is cursed. Enter at your won risk. With very little choice and bad feelings the party continued on. Half a mile from the village was another sign with a shorter, but equally creepy message: You have been warned. At the bottom of the sign, near where it was pounded into the ground was a faded rune of some sort. The party girded their loins and continued walking. As each passed the sign they felt a tingle run across their skin. “I have a bad feeling about this,” Horus says.

The village of Evergreen is a medium sized village filled with about only half of it's citizens. All look frightened and hurry away from the party. The heroes head to the inn and find an old woman trying to clean. She is old and bent and the place was need of a good scrubbing. They ask her what was going on and she unfolds a sad story. The village was under a curse from K'Tath, the Goddess of Vengeance. No one know who or why they are cursed. Villagers started disappearing one by one. No one could leave once they past the last sign. Animals also had been wandering into the village a lot too. As she weaved her tail a small white goat skipped over to the party and baaed at them. The party looked at each other then looked at the goat. “Sven?!”

Thus we find the party on the 16th of Cal, 1329 Avard, Evergreen.

DM NOTES:
This night was spent mostly in role-play mode with a little fighting. Much fun was had by all around the table. I had to do a bit of scrambling before the night started. i spent my entire day off playing catch up with character info to post and like four re-caps to do, I did not have time to do the finer details of the random encounters. I had the encouters ready, but forgot to find out how many said critters and how much Xp would be awarded. A quick run upstairs in the MWR fixed this little problem. Now all they have to contened with now is a curse from a Goddess...no problem.
