Recap
The morning of the 8th of Dacal, 1329 Avard, borderlands, Kalla

After staying at the last Haven on the border of Kalla, the party moves into the wild hills on the eastern part of the border of Kalla. The party climbed higher and higher into the gentle hills as they followed the map to the ancient ruins. Around midmorning, the party spotted a large cloud of dust rising gently on the brisk breeze. This cloud was being kicked up by a horde of approaching medium sized monstrous humanoids known as hobgoblins. The party went into battle formation and Caleb fired off a fireball that blasted out the center of the hobgoblins' formation. Scared by the fire behind and in their midsts, the monsters charged ahead and were quickly decimated.

The next day was quiet and the party enjoyed the warmth of the day. They reached the next two inns without incidence. On the third night of travel, the peace was broken by a blood curdling scream that drew the party out of their beds and into the late night street. The party was greeted by a sight straight out of horror stories. Frightened villagers ran screaming away from three evil looking humanoid figures approaching down the street. All three had a mean look to them, one had a wicked scar running down the length of the left side of his face, another still wore a hangman's noose about his throat, and the last had iron manacles with short lengths of chain dangling from his wrists. The party prepared themselves for battle and Gemini fired the first shot

They set a watch since they had finally moved into the wild lands, but after their fight with the horde, all but Jacob was too tired to pull their watches. They woke in the morning to lighter pouches and backpacks, even the map they had been following had been stolen. Luckily Caleb was able to draw it from memory. With the new map in hand, the party set out once more. After a bit of a course change, they came unexpectedly upon a trio of Hill Giants.

Jacob led the charge with is dwarven hatred for Giant kin and the rest of the party quickly followed suit. Only one giant attacked the first round, but severely injured Jacob while the other two shape changed to reveal that they were Were-boars too. Jacob and Kai both were felled in the next round. Thrug became surrounded as Horus worked hard to heal Jacob before going to Kai. Poor Jacob had just risen to his feet again when the giant smote him a heavy blow that ended the valiant dwarf's life. Horus grabbed up the injured Kai and the rest all beat a hasty retreat. Once out of range, the party set up camp and remained in the area for two more days to heal up and see what they could salvage from Jacob's remains. Once this was done, they buried their hardy companion and continued on to the ruins.

Thus starts the morning of the 13th of Dacal, 1329 Avard, Ruins.

XP AWARDED:
500 for the Hobgoblin horde...not 1500 the generator said. 200 for succesfully escaping the Hill Giants with most of the party intact. TREASURE:
No treause, more swag then they can carry awaits them at the ruins.

DM NOTES:
Well...I guess 13 really is an unlucky number. We lost Jacob. He was a great character and we all will feel his lose on adventures to come. I am not letting Todd creature a new character until two more characters die, I like DMing for less than 6 PCs thank you.
