Current Status: Summer, 1331 Avard. Ethos and his friend Zap survived the War of the Four Winds, and returned to help rebuild Takanal into a proud city. Ethos' healing skills were a wonder to the Dagonneth dwarves, and also helped him keep many of Takanal's people alive during the war. A mass exodus of anti-Inquisition elves from Ethos' homeland after the War of the Four Winds saw the creation of a duchy of sylvan elves within Rakore. Ethos left good friends behind in Takanal to rejoin his brethren, and has helped the transition between those Banoc elves and Rakore.
Male Sylvan Elf, 3rd-level Cleric of Whalin
Skills: Concentration +7, Heal +8, Knowledge (religion) +7,
Profession (tailor) +3, Scry +2. Appearance: Ethos is a taller elf, with ivory skin and snowy-white hair to his shoulders. His long bangs conceal his emerald-green eyes, until he brushes aside his hair, but it always manages to fall back into his eyes. He wears white silk breeches and a flowing short-robe of white silk, contrasted by a vestment of forest-green. His boots, wide belt, and supple forearm bracers are all of white leather, and his bracers have prayers tooled and dyed into them in intricate script. Silver buckles and bits accentuate his clothing, and the overall appearance is of lawfulness and holiness: a carefully crafted illusion.

After several years, he discovered that Whalin's intent was to use him as a missionary. Consulting with the loosely organized church of Whalin in developing Banoc'bae, the High Priestess of Whalin for the new elven nation named him "Cirrathwhaelin" -- Whalin's Hands -- a term for traveling clerics and missionaries of the Healing God. Ethos' travels took him to the Dwarven nation of Rakore, where he became involved in the city life of Kashin for a time. He worked with the city's small monastery to Whalin, and was present on the Night of Assassins. Roleplaying Notes: Ethosivalisan projects lawful obedience to the rules, while deep down, he feels rules often need to be broken to achieve Whalin's ends. The unusual elf never hesitates to rush into battle, and actually prefers excitement and combat to the tediums of the clergy -- perhaps because of his relatively young age. Although an adrenaline junky, Ethos is also a serious, intelligent, and fairly wise elf with a fair ability to work with people of all backgrounds. His faith in Whalin is unshakeable, due to the War of the Undead, but a seed of vengeance lies deep within his soul, perhaps firing his need for combat. When he meditates to calm himself, and study Whalin's teachings, he meditates. His hands continue to move, even while meditating, working on new clothes or repairing old clothes (giving him a +10 circumstance bonus on all Profession (tailor) work; although slow, he is masterful). |
